In high-volume CNC machining, minimizing spindle downtime is critical. Standard single-station vises hold only one part, requiring frequent operator intervention. The Double Action Precision Vise solves this by featuring a central fixed jaw and two independent clamping stations. When the lead screw is turned, the two outer jaws move inward simultaneously, clamping two parts against the rigid center jaw. This effectively doubles your parts-per-cycle, reduces tool path travel time, and maximizes the use of your machine's work envelope. It is the perfect workholding solution for tombstone fixtures on horizontal machining centers (HMCs) and high-density setups on vertical machining centers (VMCs).

Independent Clamping Action: The advanced lead screw design allows the vise to securely clamp two workpieces of slightly different sizes (within a specific tolerance range) simultaneously with equal clamping force.
Anti-Lift Mechanism (Pull-Down Design): The movable jaws are engineered with a specialized angle mechanism. As clamping pressure is applied, the jaws are pulled slightly downward, ensuring the workpiece remains perfectly flat against the vise bed and preventing any upward lifting during heavy milling.
Ultra-Precision Grinding: The vise bed, jaw plates, and sliding surfaces are precision-ground to exacting tolerances, ensuring exceptional parallelism and squareness (typically within 0.01mm/100mm) for highly accurate machining.

Q1: Can I clamp two workpieces of different sizes at the same time?
A:Yes, within a certain range. Our double action vises feature a compensating mechanism in the lead screw. This allows the vise to securely clamp two parts even if there is a slight variation in their dimensions (usually up to 3mm - 5mm difference, depending on the specific model). If you need to clamp one part only, a spacer block of the same size must be placed in the empty station.
Q2: Can I remove the center jaw to hold one very large workpiece?
A:Yes. On most of our double action vise models, the fixed center jaw can be removed. By doing this, the vise converts into a large single-station vise, allowing the two outer jaws to clamp a single, oversized workpiece, making it incredibly versatile.
Q3: What is the "Anti-Lift" or "Pull-Down" feature?
A: In standard vises, clamping pressure can cause the movable jaw to tilt slightly upward, lifting the workpiece off the parallels and causing inaccurate machining. Our anti-lift mechanism uses a semi-sphere segment inside the movable jaw. When you tighten the vise, this mechanism forces the jaw forward and downward simultaneously, keeping the part dead flat against the bed.

A:Absolutely. They are cast from high-strength ductile iron and feature a massive, rigid structure. They provide immense clamping force (often exceeding 4,000 kgf on larger models) and are fully capable of handling aggressive roughing cuts in steel and titanium.
