Company Profile
Pingyuan Zhenghao Machinery CO, LTD was found in 1998, professional produced GT precision modular vise, quick change tool post, tool holder, collets, end mills. It is a professional manufacturer of CNC lathe accessories in china. We have export experience for more than 10 years , Our productions export to more than 20 countries and regions.
Our company adheres to the principles of "quality first, customers supreme and reputation fundamental". we sincerely welcome foreign customers to visit us .
For modern CNC machining centers with synchronized "Rigid Tapping" cycles, bulky tension/compression chucks are often unnecessary. The TER Tapping Chuck provides a streamlined, highly rigid alternative. By combining the universal convenience of the ER collet system with the secure drive of a tapping chuck, the TER system securely locks the tap's square shank to prevent any rotational slipping under heavy torque. This solid connection ensures that the tap perfectly follows the machine's programmed feed and speed, resulting in highly accurate threads and extended tool life.
Versatile Shank Options:
BT40 & HSK63A: Perfectly balanced for high-speed vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
MT3 (Morse Taper): Ideal for manual drill presses, radial arm drills, and lathe tailstocks.
D25 (Straight Shank): Designed for CNC lathe turrets, boring bar holders, or Swiss-type automatics.
ER Tapping Collet Compatibility: Designed to be used with ER-G or ER-GB tapping collets. These specialized collets feature an internal square that locks onto the tap's square shank, providing a 100% positive drive that standard round ER collets cannot match.
Compact & Rigid Design: Features a much shorter gauge length compared to quick-change or floating tapping chucks. This reduced overhang minimizes deflection and vibration, making it perfect for high-speed rigid tapping.
High Concentricity: Precision-ground tapers and collet seats ensure a maximum runout of ≤ 0.005mm, guaranteeing that the tap enters the hole perfectly straight to prevent oversized threads or tool breakage.
Premium Material: Forged from high-quality alloy steel (such as 20CrMnTi) and case-hardened to withstand the high torque demands of threading tough materials.
Direct Manufacturer Savings: Source your tapping tool holders directly from our factory, bypassing trading companies for highly competitive wholesale pricing.
Complete Tooling Packages: We supply not only the TER chucks but also the matching ER-G tapping collets in standard ISO, DIN, and JIS square sizes.
Custom Solutions: Need a specific gauge length, coolant-through capability, or a different shank (e.g., CAT40, SK40)? Our engineering team can manufacture custom holders to your exact specifications.
Strict Quality Control: Every holder is rigorously inspected using 3D CMMs and taper gauges to ensure flawless fit and performance.
Q1: What is the difference between a TER tapping chuck and a standard ER collet chuck?
A: While they look very similar externally, a standard ER chuck is designed for holding round cylindrical shanks (like end mills or drills) using friction. A TER tapping chuck is specifically optimized for threading. When paired with an ER tapping collet (which has an internal square), it provides a positive mechanical drive against the tap's square end, ensuring the tap cannot spin inside the collet under high torque.
Q2: Can I use standard ER collets in a TER tapping chuck?
A: Technically, standard ER collets will fit into the chuck. However, for tapping operations, we highly recommend using ER tapping collets (ER-G/ER-GB). Standard collets only grip the round part of the tap shank; during heavy tapping (especially in steel), the tap can easily slip and spin inside a standard collet, ruining the thread or breaking the tap.
Q3: Do these TER chucks have tension and compression (axial float)?
A:No. Standard TER chucks are "solid" or "rigid" holders. They are designed for modern CNC machines that feature synchronized Rigid Tapping (where the machine's computer perfectly matches spindle rotation to the Z-axis feed). If your machine is older and lacks rigid tapping, you should use our J45 Series Tension/Compression tapping chucks to prevent tap breakage.
Q4: How do I choose the right ER tapping collet for my tap?
A: Taps are manufactured to different standards (ISO, DIN, JIS), meaning an M8 tap in DIN standard has a different shank diameter and square size than an M8 tap in JIS standard. You must check the shank diameter (d) and square size (w) of your specific tap, and select the corresponding ER tapping collet that matches those exact dimensions.
Maximize your rigid tapping performance with our high-precision TER Tapping Chucks.
