Delivering coolant directly to the cutting zone is critical for tool life and surface finish, especially in deep hole drilling or aggressive milling. Standard external coolant nozzles often fail to reach the tip of the tool inside a deep cavity. The Oil Hole Tool Holder System solves this by routing high-pressure coolant from the machine, through a specialized rotary collar or side-port on the holder, directly into the internal coolant channels of your cutting tools (such as U-drills or coolant-through carbide drills). This ensures continuous lubrication, blasts chips out of deep holes, and prevents catastrophic heat build-up.
Direct Internal Coolant Delivery: Routes coolant directly through the center of the tool holder into the cutting tool, maximizing cooling efficiency and chip evacuation where it matters most.
Multiple Clamping Styles:
OSL (Oil Hole Side Lock): Perfect for clamping U-drills, indexable drills, and Weldon shank tools securely with heavy-duty side set screws.
OSER (Oil Hole ER Collet): Utilizes standard ER collets to clamp solid carbide drills, reamers, and end mills with high concentricity.
OMS (Oil Hole Morse Taper): Designed for securely holding Morse Taper shank drills with internal coolant capabilities.
Manual & Automatic Coolant Types:
Manual Type: Features a threaded port on the side of the coolant ring for connecting a flexible coolant hose directly from the machine's pump.
Automatic Type: Features a specialized positioning block/plunger that automatically aligns and seals with the machine's coolant delivery port upon tool change, eliminating manual hose connections.
High-Pressure Sealing: Built with premium internal O-rings and rotary seals designed to withstand high-pressure coolant systems without leaking, even at high RPMs.
Premium Hardened Steel: Forged from high-quality alloy steel, deeply case-hardened, and precision-ground to ensure rigidity, accuracy, and a long service life in harsh machining environments.
Direct Manufacturer Savings: Bypass trading companies and source premium coolant-fed tooling systems directly from our factory for highly competitive wholesale pricing.
Versatile Shank Compatibility: Available in various straight shank diameters (e.g., 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm) to perfectly fit standard CNC lathe turrets and tool blocks.
Custom Solutions: Need a specific coolant port thread, a custom positioning block for your automatic type, or a unique shank size? Our engineering team can manufacture oil hole holders to your exact machine specifications.
Strict Quality Control: Every holder is pressure-tested for leaks and rigorously inspected for runout and dimensional accuracy before packaging.
Q1: What is the exact difference between the Manual and Automatic types?
A: The Manual type has a simple threaded port (like 1/8" or 1/4" PT/NPT) on the side of the holder where you manually screw in a coolant hose. The Automatic type has a specialized, often spring-loaded, coolant block that automatically mates with the coolant supply hole on your CNC lathe's turret when the tool is indexed into the cutting position.
Q2: Can I use standard ER collets in the OSER holder?
A: Yes, the OSER holder uses standard ER collets. However, to ensure the coolant is forced through the center of the cutting tool and doesn't just leak out the front of the collet slots, you must use Sealed ER Collets (ER-C) or coolant-flush disks in combination with your coolant-through cutting tools.
Q3: What type of tools are best used with the OSL (Side Lock) holders?
A: OSL holders are ideal for tools with a flat on the shank (Weldon shank), such as U-drills, indexable insert drills, and heavy-duty roughing end mills. The side lock screw provides massive resistance to pull-out forces during aggressive drilling.
Q4: What is the maximum coolant pressure these holders can handle?
A: Our standard oil hole holders are designed with high-quality rotary seals that can comfortably handle standard CNC high-pressure coolant systems, typically up to 20-30 Bar (300-450 PSI). For ultra-high-pressure applications, please consult our sales engineering team.
